During this workshop you will design and make a decorative square in remembrance of an individual child using the beautiful and versatile techniques of appliqué, fabric collage and embroidery. No previous experience is needed, and all guidance and materials are provided.Completed squares will be stitched together to create into new panels of the quilt alongside those created by other artists, crafters and creatives from across the UK and internationally.Workshop will be delivered by Christine Khwaja, Christine has been sewing - making tapestries - for nearly sixty years. Her first piece was a bookmark using Binca when she was aged 6 years. She now mostly uses wool and hessian to make abstract pieces inspired by people, places and nature. Christine has contributed two squares the remembrance quilt using tapestry and Binca.NOTE: In return for being able to fund our vibrant exhibitions and events, we must charge a ticket price to help offset some of the gallery running and overhead expenses.
